Food @ Jalan Besar

Good Bye 2009

Welcome 2010

Nigel, Tessa, Xin, Ah Jun, Jia Wei, Bao Zhen and I went BBQ at HDB BBQ pit under Ivy's blk. The charcoal was not burning well and the flame is not strong enough to cook the food fast. It was like slow cooking or should I saw "smoking" instead. The chicken wings were cook from the start till the charcoal was like finishing and still some are still a little raw. But overall the food are great.

Thank you Nigel and Tessa for shopping and preparing all the food.

At the strike of midnight we dash up to the highest level of Ivy's blk and guess what. We could see a small portion of Marina Bay's firework. Where is the rest? Blame it for the high rise buildings blocking them. Pop sparkling juice and YUM SENG our way to a brand new year.

Late at night and we are still BBQ-ing. Very tire, I slept on the benches and they continue their BBQ-ing. Around 2am Nigel was saying to go to Mustafa. So we packed up and return to Ivy's flat. Lying on the living room floor, Bao Zhen and I fall asleep immediately. End up, all of us slept through-out the night and didn't go to Mustafa. =P

Our breakfast the next morning at the coffee shop under Ivy's blk.

I had laksa from this famous stall which attracts long Q during the noon hours. They do not provide chopstick as noodles were pre-cut. The soup is good but I hate Tou Pop and they had lots of them in the soup.

Nigel tried this cheap $2 chicken rice and the portion was too little for him. His 2nd round was a bowl of laksa.
Bao Zhen ordered vegetarian bee hoon and with the sumptuous ingredient it cost only $2.50 - so cheap!

I added on an popiah and it was not very well done. The filling is not tightly wrap and the chilli taste a little strange?!?!

That all for Xiao Wei to nag! Ta Ta
