Been wanting to go somewhere somewhere. Thought of Kuala Lumpur for quite some time but no action. Finally I am going there.
Friday early morning I took the following route.
- MRT from Khatib to Kranji.
- SBS 170 from Kranji MRT to Lakin Bus Interchange, Johor Bahru.
- Coach from Lakin Bus Interchange, Johor Bahru to Puduraya station, Kuala Lumpur.
(KL closed their bus station and direct all buses to a makeshift bus terminal at the car park beside stadium.)
A long journey from JB to KL and will very restless so did not take much photos.
My bus tickets from JB to KL
From KL temporary bus terminal, took a shuttle bus which costs RM2, to go back to the original interchange where Soon Fatt's auntie will pick us up. The temporary bus terminal is far away from the main city area. First stop, she bought us to Suria KLCC shopping complex to visit the Petrosains Discovery Centre (Science centre about petrol). Arrive at around 4pm and they had close their counter sales. I am like HUH it is closed so early when the shopping mall is open till late.
Change of plan. Not able to go to the Science Centre, we head for late lunch instead. Auntie highly recommend this casual restaurant serving Malaysia local fares - Madam Kwan's. She was saying all other restaurants are very expensive and this is affordable with great food. Trust her taste. Ordered immediately once we seat. All 3 of us ordered Nasi Lemak and they are having ice lemon tea while I chosen mango milk shake.

The Nasi Lemak smells so nice~ Tasty coconut milk rice with chilli ikan, curry chicken, half hard boiled egg, fish floss and achar achar. Everything is nice or am I too hungry? =P The portion is very filling. Finishing the whole plate, I could finish my mango milk shake. It is too thick. This meal is a treat from Auntie. Thank you!
Shop around the mall and realise that they are not cheap. Majority of the shops are big brands. So I did not purchase anything. Oh there is a park beside the mall. Look at how beautiful it is from inside the mall. The weather is quite humid, I wonder how they sit under the warm sun chatting away.
Went out for a short stroll at the park, saw lots of kids at the play area. And take note - it is strictly for kids only. If a adult use the facilities at the playground, security auntie will "BEEP BEEP" blow her whistle at you. Fountain area and the kids are happily playing water. I walk on the steps to pose for a photograph when I hear "BEEP BEEP" again. Oh no shoes allowed. So pai sei didn't see the notice which is so tiny on the floor.
After dinner, Uncle bought us to this place where there are a few restaurant (very expensive kind), one supermarket and a big pond. We went to the supermarket for free air-con and saw New Zealand ice cream having promotion. He He ... ice cream ice cream my fave!
Regular tub costs only RM17.40 which is S$6.22. A lot cheaper then in Singapore. We get to chose 2 flavour and I ordered Berries sorbet and Choco chunk (something like tat can't remember liao). It is so nice~!
Early morning, Uncle drove us to the famous Kim Tek Bak Ku Teh. Meetup with Auntie's brother and his wife there for breakfast. When we reach the place it is so packed that we had to wait for a family to finish up. So famous meh???!?!?!?
Munched on 油条和白糕 while waiting for the bak ku teh. Super long Q lor!
As we walk deeper into the cave, I saw lots of monkeys loitering around. They are searching for foods like fruits. Indians carried flowers, coconut and banana as offerings. Saw this monkey munching the banana where this 2 kids stare at it. So cute~
I saw this lady walking out of the temple with her small little plastic bag of offering when a monkey run up to her and try to snatch her plastic bag. She tried to retaliate but of no use. As the monkey grab on her and try to climb further up. So she throw the bag on the floor. Ah yo the monkeys are so aggressive.
Next stop - Science Centre. Actually I do not know that it exist in Kulau Lumpur. He he =P Doesn't the building structure reminds you of Esplanade?
Science Centre entrance which is a robot hand! Actually there is a admission charge for the centre but they had removed the charges. Think they are trying to encourage more people to visit them.
There is a stall beside this super cute tent selling services of customising the tent. You can chose any drawing and they will hand draw it onto the white tent. Think they must out in a lot of time to draw them.
Next stop - Chinatown! Highly rated by lots of people - a must go.
Afterwhich, Auntie drove us back to the city area to have a look at their night life - pubs along the streets lit brightly and packed with people. Ah yo and the traffic jam is very bad too. Then I suggested Auntie to bring us to try her favourite Roti Kacang. I actually thought that it would be at a roadside stall or something like that. But Auntie drove us to the whole stretch of houses behind her house (just the next few roads) and they converted this semi detach into a shop. It is a chinese stall inside which has close for the day and Indian stall outside. Business is so good that as it is so packed and crowded.
2 May 2010, Sunday.
Packing up to leave this KL le. So fast. Had not go to a lot of places and didn't not buy lots of stuff. I don't want to leave. =(
Went for breakfast nearby with our bags to leave. Ordered 三色茶 and chicken chop. The tea is not very nice and the colour is all mix up. The skills of the coffee maker is not up to standard. But the chicken chop is nice!!!
